Dailies Total 1 Multifocal lens launch

Posted on 13 July 2016

Alcon has extended the type of lenses in their Dailies Total 1 brand of contact lenses and have released a multifocal version of their popular premium contact lens called Dailies Total 1 Multifocal. This lens is designed to correct both the distance and near vision while simultaneously reducing the symptoms of dry eye. They do this by using their new material called delefilcon A which has a variable water content throughout the matrix of the contact lens. The surface water content of the lens approaches 100% and reduces down to about 38% water content in the centre of the lens. The surface of the lens is extremely slippery which reduces deposit formation and reduces symptoms of dry eye.

The lenses are available in both 30 and 90 packs with a daily replacement modality which means fresh lenses every morning.

The Dailies Total 1 Multifocal lenses are initially be available from -6 to +3 dioptres going up in 0.25 steps, and in three reading additions of low, medium and high. In late 2016 this range will be extended to -10 to +6 dioptres. This extensive range should enable the majority of people who require multifocal contact lenses to be fitted successfully.

Dailies Total 1 Multifocal are available now.
